Jessamyn Parker lives and works in Reno, Nevada. She studied Fine Art, and French Literature at the University of Nevada, Reno and at California State University, Northridge. Her recent work includes abstract and contemporary acrylic paintings.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I am inspired by being human, by the growth and transformation we undergo as conscious beings, and by the simplicities and intricacies of nature. 

My work is an intuitive experience that includes both spontaneity and intentionality. My feelings move me to create. The meaning evolves in the process.

My studio is a place I can go to practice letting go, and also making decisions. I use a variety of mediums and tools to create textures, shapes, energies.  I either reduce or expand on certain marks with the purpose of leaving behind what feels most significant.
