Jessamyn Parker draws on a background in performing arts and athletics, creating work shaped by movement, rhythm, and emotional resonance. Her recent practice focuses on abstract and mixed media paintings. Jessamyn has exhibited at The Standard Gallery in Steamboat, CO; Mountain Trails Gallery in Bozeman, MT; Piper J and Ridgeline Galleries in Truckee, CA; and The Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale, AZ.

CONCEPT & APPROACH:

“My work is a diary of lived experience— both physical and emotional. I am inspired by the process of being human: the growth and transformation we undergo as conscious beings, and the simplicities and intricacies in nature.”

Jessamyn’s process is intuitive—both spontaneous and intentional—a dance between polarities of control and freedom, tension and ease, movement and stillness. It seeks to locate an evolving feeling before it is named. Working in layered acrylic and mixed media, she builds, obscures, and reveals with the purpose of leaving behind a residual feeling.
